13Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them. 14As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.

15While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and “sinners” were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the “sinners” and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?”

17On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

Hi, my name is Terri-Anne. Today is Oct 20 2010 and I am going to wear purple to school. Today is the day to show support for the 6 gay teens who commited suicide because of abuse and to show support for gay people who are being abused and feeling helpless. I am also wearing purple to show my support for anybody else who are being abused and feeling unloved and helpless.

I am a Christian. I believe that homosexuality is a sin. I also believe that hate is a sin. Jesus came for sinners, not saints. Homosexuals are sinners. You reading this is a sinner. Christians are sinners. I am a sinner. If you are a human being, you are a sinner. Jesus came for us. His love is not limited to who you are, where you live or what you’ve done. Though sin separates us from God, sin does not separate us from His love.

No matter our past, we can come to Jesus now and receive His forgiveness, His love, His mercy, His grace and His salvation. When we were supposed to die for our sins, Jesus took our place, so that if we believe in Him and call on His name and allow Him to be our Savior, we would no longer be separated from God.

Therefore, I am against abuse and hate. It robs people of their chance to experience God’s love because they are lead to believe in a lie, that they are worthless and unaccepted. Today, I am wearing purple to let everyone know, Jesus loves you and wants you to know Him and experience His love and mercy.
